TRAC Winter 2018 Special General Assembly

The Teaching and Research Assistants at Concordia (TRAC) Union invites all its members, including invigilators, to participate in the Winter 2018 Special General Assembly (GA).

This GA will be focused towards the bargaining of the collective agreements of both TAs/RAs and Invigilators, and the general mobilization of TRAC. It will also be the opportunity to reform bylaws and address Quebec Bill 62 (more information below). The GA is a great opportunity to address any point regarding these matters and a great way to participate in the mobilization.

Don't forget to bring your student ID or pay stub for identification purposes!

From 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, there will be a Meet & Greet with the TRAC Executive Committee members where free food and coffee will be served. The Special General Assembly will start at 5:30 PM sharp.

TRAC’s General Assembly After-Party will be held immediately after the meeting at Reggies.

As announced during September GA, TRAC executive committee will propose a reform of TRAC's by-laws. You can check the proposed changes here. Yellow text indicates added or modified entries, while strike through text indicates deleted entries.

Quebec Bill 62

On October 18 2017, the National Assembly of Québec adopted the Bill 62 An Act to foster adherence to State religious neutrality and, in particular to provide a framework for request for accommodations on religious grounds in certain bodies. Article 10 of that law states that a person providing or requesting government services must have their face uncovered when the service is provided. Articles 11 and 12 state that religious accommodations can be granted in the application of article 10 and that the Minister will establish guidelines for dealing with such requests. The guidelines have not been published yet.

Since this topic has been the object of much public debate, the TRAC executive choose to ask the General assembly whether it believes the Union should have an official position on the matter and if so, what that position should be.
