TRAC Equity Committee

The mandate of the TRAC Equity Committee is to make recommendations to the TRAC Executive Committee and Delegate Council on matters and practices at Concordia University that affect and discriminate, as defined in the Concordia Code of Rights and Responsibilities, against TRAC Members who identify as belonging to one or more equity groups. Members from equity groups include members with disabilities, indigenous members, racialized members, women, and the LGBTQI+ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, 2-Spirited, with a plus to encompass Questioning, Asexual and other forms of sexual orientation and gender expression).

The objectives of the TRAC Equity Committee are:

  • Advocating for members who face discriminatory barriers within the Concordia community
  • Affecting policy changes at Concordia and at TRAC
  • Organizing activities to sensitize the Concordia community about equity issues

The responsibilities of members of the TRAC Equity Committee include:

  • Meeting once a month
  • Presenting recommendations to the TRAC Delegate Council at its monthly meeting
  • Presenting a report at the General Assembly

    The Teaching and Research Assistants at Concordia (TRAC) is a labour union local comprising the teaching assistants and research assistants at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebéc.
