August General Assembly Announcement

SUBJECT: IMPORTANT – DATE CHANGE – TRAC –Teaching and Research Assistants at Concordia - General Assembly – NEW DATE August 22nd - 6pm

To TRAC members, 

We are a group of TAs and RAs that want to get TRAC back on its feet as the previous executives have failed us. The majority of us signed with CREW-CSN and resigned from them once we understood what has happened.  Recently, we approached PSAC, our parent union, to let them know about our intentions to fight for our union and they have fully supported us. Their representatives have cleared up our confusion about the situation. We would like to share what we have discovered with all of you and all of the information we have about the CSN raid and how TRAC is moving forward to prepare for bargaining with Concordia. For this purpose, we are organizing a general assembly on August 17th at 6 pm to have our union fully functional and prepare for the subsequent negotiations with Concordia HR. The agenda for the General Assembly is listed below. This meeting will be hybrid, so members can attend in person or via Zoom. Food and drinks will be provided on-site. With the help of PSAC, we will provide you with all the information about the TRAC/CSN vote which is coming very soon.

IMPORTANT REMINDER, YOU ARE A TRAC MEMBER IF YOU: 

● Have had a contract as a TA or RA in the last 12 months

● Signed a TRAC membership form, which you can fill out here https://afpcquebec.formstack.com/forms/afpc_qc_form_adh_acc_univ_conc_trac

● Haven’t resigned from TRAC by signing a CSN card (unless you are now resigning from CREW)

If you registered for the GA previously scheduled on August 17th, you’ll need to re-register for the GA on August 22nd.
