Getting Back on TRAC for Members!

We are the newly elected Executive members of TRAC. We would like to thank members for your trust in us to fight for your workers’ rights! While we are excited to proceed quickly to bargaining your next collective agreement, members will be asked to vote for their union in the Fall 2023 semester. We ask for your support for TRAC-PSAC!

Due to past events and CREW’s misinformation, we find it important for members to be fully informed of certain facts that led up to this raid:

  • The CREW-CSN team stole your personal information. They received a legal order from the Quebec Worker’s Tribunal to stop using your information, but they illegally kept it to call/text you and show up at your house. This means that they are more concerned about their campaign than protecting your rights.

  • CREW-CSN leaders, who were also the former 2022-2023 TRAC Executives until they resigned on March 13, 2023, prepared the CREW-CSN raid while they were TRAC Executives. This means they were using your dues to pay for their raid.

  • They did not ask you, TRAC membership, if you wanted to switch unions. This means they acted in their own self-interest.

  • Inflation is high! CREW-CSN leaders intentionally messed up and delayed asking for better wages, meaning less money in your pockets because of the CREW-CSN raid.

  • Members did not receive help from them, meaning services to members from the 2022-2023 TRAC Executives (now CREW-CSN leaders) were seriously neglected. This means that they did not prioritize you and other members’ interests.

TRAC is the best option to fight for our workers’ rights. The way CREW strategically planned this move behind members’ backs while they held Executive positions, sabotaged services to members and delayed negotiations to spew distrust with TRAC, and subsequently all resigned from their positions to continue working for the CSN raid, among other things, is an abuse of power, dishonest and full of self-interest. That is not what union work should be about!

What now? We are focused on getting to work on the next round of bargaining and we encourage everyone to vote for TRAC so that we can get back to the important work of improving your wages and working conditions. We will keep you informed regularly about the upcoming vote and the negotiations. We want to assure fellow members that we are willing to fight tirelessly to support them and repair any distrust caused by the last Executive team … to get our union back on TRAC!
