February GA Recap

On February 8, 2023 TRAC held our first GA of the year. Here is what we accomplished.

  • We updated out budget.
A new budget, brought forward by our Treasurer, was approved. Many small changes to reflect new information and teams for the rest of the fiscal year. The grand total stays roughly the same.

  • We elected our bargaining committee.
The bargaining committee will be responsible for negotiating against Concordia for our next collective agreement. Our current agreement expires on May 31, 2023. They have a big task ahead of them and we wish them great success.

  • We updated our bylaws.
After much debate, Article 19 of the bylaws has been updated. This update modifies how TRAC will choose their bargaining committee. This will take apply to the next bargaining committee. As a rule, all bylaw changes take affect after the GA in which they are approved.

We are proud to have worked hard, in collaboration with the Equity Committee, to make general assemblies more accessible to those who join online. In this regard, this GA was our most successful yet. We plan to bring the knowledge forward to future GAs to keep them running as successfully as we can. On that note, we ask those who attended the GA to fill our accessibility survey. The feedback provided will allow us to better tailor the procedures for the future. You can find the survey here.

Thank you to all the members who attended. We look forward to having you at the next one.
